Fraulini’s 46 points beats RH

PORTSMOUTH — The Rock Hill Redmen can’t seem to catch a break.
The Redmen have lost four of their last five games in overtime. On Friday, they turn in one of their best offensive efforts of the season only to run into the Portsmouth Trojans’ Matthew Fraulini.
Hitting eight 3-pointers and 10-of-11 at the foul line, Fraulini scored a school record 46 points as the Trojans beat the Redmen 80-61 in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
Danny Lattimore and Miles Shipp added 11 points each for Portsmouth (6-6, 2-3).
Rock Hill got 19 points and seven rebounds from Kadin France. A couple of freshmen boosted the offense as Owen Hankins scored 16 points and Brayden Malone had 10 points and six rebounds.
Portsmouth was up 15-12 after the first quarter as Fraulini had nine points including a 3-ointer with Myquel McKinley getting all four of his points.
Hankins scored eight points for the Redmen (3-8, 0-5).
The Trojans extended their lead to 31-24 at the half as Shipp ha seven points and Lattimore four.
Hankins hit a trey and five different players scored for Rock Hill in the second quarter.
Fraulini got hot in the third quarter as Portsmouth scored 25 points and went in front 56-45.
Fraulini scored 18 points as he hit a pair of 3-pointers, three field goals and was 6-of-7 at the foul line.
France and Malone scored six points each, Hankins five and Jake Blagg four as Rock Hill got 21 points to try and keep pace.
But in the fourth quarter, Fraulini hit four shots from behind the arc and scored 16 more points. Shipp added four points as Portsmouth outscored Rock Hill 24-16.
France had a big quarter for the Redmen with nine points while Nick Blankenship hit a 3-pointer and added two foul shots.
On Tuesday, Rock Hill hosts South Point and Portsmouth entertains Gallipolis.
