HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall men’s basketball is set to host Florida Atlantic Thursday at the Cam Henderson Center.
HAVE YOU HERD
The Herd has won its last three games by three or fewer points and is the first occurrence for the program since 1969.
Senior guard Jon Elmore is 11 made three-pointers away from passing Austin Loop for most in program history.
Freshman guard Taveion Kinsey scored a career-high 23 points in the win over Western Kentucky.
The comeback from 15 points overall and 11 at halftime are season-high deficits overcome by the Herd this season.
Elmore needs 22 assists to become the all-time leader at Marshall and pass Greg White.
Kinsey has only turned the ball over one time in the last four games.
Sophomore forward Jannson Williams tied a career-high in blocks with five and has had double-figure points in the last three games.
SCOUTING THE OWLS
Florida Atlantic comes into the contest with an 11-6 record and is 2-2 in conference play. The Owls dropped their last contest to Charlotte at home 65-60.
FAU has recorded road wins against Central Florida and Big Ten foe Illinois.
The Owls outscore their opponents by just under four points per contest and only two of their six losses have by 11 or more points, with three of the losses coming by five or fewer points.
FAU lost its leading scorer and rebounder Jailyn Ingram after suffering a knee injury after playing and starting in the first 10 games this season. Ingram was averaging 18.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game before suffering the season-ending injury and the Owls are 4-3 in his absence.
