Keeping roads safe

While the snow forecast for the weekend did not occur quite as severely as forecasters expected, leaving a light dusting, rather than the multiple inches some feared, it is good to know our region would have been prepared in any event.
Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 had salted the roads in advance of the coming storm, pre-treating the roads and getting equipment ready for snow removal.
With more snow expected this weekend, it is likely a significant fall will occur before season’s end.
We would like to offer our thanks to all at ODOT for their readiness and making sure our highways receive the best possible effort to clear them in winter weather.
It is workers like this who are too often unsung for what they do and their work benefits us all.
It is always better to be prepared in advance, and we know this is the case in Lawrence County when the weather can change daily.
