Student wins Outstanding Attorney Award

The St. Joseph Mock Trial team competed in the district mock trial competition this past Friday in Portsmouth.

Senior Alex Holtzapfel claimed the Outstanding Attorney Award for the team’s morning trial, where the Flyers won against River Valley Bidwell. In the team’s afternoon trial, the Flyers were narrowly defeated in the tiebreaker by Valley High School in its afternoon case.

Team members had seniors Holzapfel, Isabella Griffiths and Camryn Jones as attoreys, and freshmen Sami Anderson, Nick Cremeans and Connor Waller playing witnesses.

The team is coached by Carolyn Enders, while Brian Cremeans, Maria Hodges, Mark McCown and Trey Smith serve as legal advisors.
