Flyers march by Saints

And this one belongs to ALL the Flyers.
The St. Joseph Flyers had nine players score led by the red-hot Zach Roach as they beat the St. Patrick Saints 87-52 on homecoming Friday.
Roach scored 30 points including five 3-pointers as the Flyers improved to 12-3. Roach has scored 25, 36 and 40 in his previous three games.
St. Joseph had three players in double figures as J.C. Damron scored 14 and freshman Matt Sheridan came off the bench to score a career-high 11 points. Jimmy Mahlmeister added nine points.
“Zach is on fire, but it was a great team effort even with his individual effort,” said Flyers’ coach Chris Barnes.
“This was Matt’s coming out party. He had 11 points and a ton of great assists. J.C. got back on track which is good to see. We have two huge games next week, so we’ll see how well we’re really playing at this point in the season.”
The Flyers outscored the Saints 25-18 in the first quarter as Roach 12 points including a pair of 3-pointers. Mahlmeister hit a trey and scored five points with Max Weber and Damron scoring four each.
Jack Gallenstein and Brylon Hamilton combined for 11 points for the Saints.
Roach stayed hot in the second quarter with two more trifecteas as he scored 10 points. Sheridan added a triple as the Flyers led 40-25 at the break.
Damron hit a 3-poitner and scored 10 points while Roach made his final shot from behind the arc and score eight points and it was 64-38.
Sheridan drained another 3-pointer and scored six points, Jackson Rowe hit a pair of 3-pointers and Jared Johnson added four points in the fourth quarter for the Flyers.
The Saints’ Patrick McKay and Alan Briseno had six points each.
The Flyers host Green on Tuesday and New Boston next Saturday.
