The Concerned Citizens of the Burlington Area elected new officers on Thursday night.
The group’s new president will be Tamara Howard Jones, while Tammy Hackworth Howard will be vice president.
Ed Moellendick, who has served as the group’s president for the past several years, will now be secretary, while Bobby Pennington will serve as treasurer.
“It has been my pleasure to serve as President for several years and Tamara Jones served as my VP,” Moellendick said in a news release. “However, we have both felt that it’s time for a younger leader. Tamara has stepped up to take on the role as president. And we, The Concerned Citizens, are excited to welcome her into this role.”
Jones is a lifelong resident of Burlington and is the wife of Tim Jones. The couple have two daughters, Kaelyn and Jasmyn.
She is a cook at Burlington Elementary School and is active in her church and youth sporting events.
