SCIOTOVILLE — Moving the ball has the Green Bobcats moving up.
Green coach Dirk Hollar attributed ball movement as the key to an 84-47 rout of the Sciotoville East Tartans on Friday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.
Green (9-6, 5-4) had four players in double figures as Gage Sampson scored 20, Tayte Carver 18, Tanner Kimbler 15 and Zach Huffman 12.
“We moved the ball really well tonight. We shared it. I keep telling the kids, if you move the rock it’ll be hard to beat us,” said Hollar.
“Sampson seemed to grab every board. Tayte and Zach got out in transition and Tanner did a great job defensively helping off to slow down Flannery and Shope. It was a total team effort offensively and defensively. We are playing really good ball right now.”
Will Shope scored 15, Kyle Flannery 13 and Austin Smith 12 for East (2-10, 1-8).
Green erupted to start the game with 49 points in the first half.
The Bobcats led 21-14 after the first quarter as Carver scored eight, Sampson six and Kimbler five including a 3-pointer.
Smith scored eight and Shope six for East.
Green got 28 points in the second quarter to make it 49-20 at the half.
Kimbler hit another trey and scored eight points as did Carver while Huffman added six.
The offense stayed in high gear in the third quarter as Green went ahead 70-31. Sampson poured in 10 points and Caden Blizzard hit a trifecta to key to offense.
Flannery had six points including a 3-pointer.
Ethan Huffman scored six points and Caden Brammar four as Green emptied the bench in the fourth quarter.
Shope scored seven and Flannery five for the Tartans.
Green is at St. Joseph on Tuesday.
