OUS to have workforce workshops

Will focus on gaining new skills, serving customers
Ohio University Southern’s Workforce Success Initiative will offer several workshops designed to assist business owners and entrepreneurs improve their operations in February and March.
The Hour of Power sessions kick off Feb. 19 with Dave Beam, an Action Business coach, leading the session, “6 Keys to a Winning Team.”
Hour of Power is a one-hour transformational seminar targeted to help business professionals gain new skills that will benefit their business operation.
On March 19, Beam’s Hour of Power session will focus on “Being a Better Coach and Asking Better Questions.” Both sessions will be held in the 1804 Room of the Collins Center of the Ironton Campus and will begin at 8:30 a.m.
The sessions are in response to interest from area businesses, seeking assistance on strategies to boost their bottom lines.
“Workforce Success focuses on providing education and training to strengthen existing workforce skills,” said Sarah Diamond Burroway, director of External Relations and Workforce Success.
A workshop on IDEAtion and Customer VALIDation for small businesses and entrepreneurs will be conducted on March 26.
Erin Rennich of The Innovation Center at Ohio University will lead the session, which offers strategies to better serve customers.
Rennich will also discuss how businesses can leverage data to understand trends. This session is scheduled from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
