PROCTORVILLE — It was quite a preview game.
In what some think is a preview of a regional matchup, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Panthers beat the Fairland Lady Dragons 61-49 on Saturday.
Peyton Scott scored 30 points and Zoe Fittro had 22 as Lynchburg ran its record to 18-3.
Harley Lyons scored 19 points and Allie Marshall had 11 points before fouling out to lead Fairland (17-4).
The Lady Panthers came out hot as they took a 22-9 first quarter lead.
Serena Smith hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight points, Scott had a trey and scored eight points and Fittro had two triples.
Britney Thompson and Lyons had 3-pointers for Fairland.
The Lady Dragons cut the spread to 32-21 at the half as Lyons hit another 3-pointer and scored five points to lead five different players in the scoring column.
Scott hit a 3-pointer and 5-of-6 at the line for 10 points.
Fairland cut into the lead a little more in the third quarter. Thompson drained two more 3-pointers and it was now 39-31.
But Fittro knocked down three triples and scored 13 points while Scott had a 3-pointer and converted 5-of-6 at the line in the fourth quarter.
Lyons had a 3-pointer and nine points, Marshall six points and Kelsie Warnock hit a 3-pointer for the Lady Dragons.
Fairland plays Zane Trace at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday in the sectional tournament at Jackson.
