Celebrate this St. Patrick’s Day by listening to the hand clapping, toe tapping music of the Appalachian Celtic Consort, who will perform Sunday, March 17, in the sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church of Ironton.

The Appalachian Celtic Consort hails from Charleston, West Virginia, and features Dave Gladkosky on mandolin, guitar, bass and vocals, Mark Nelson on pennywhistles, bagpipes and vocals, Mark Watson on whistles, Irish bouzouki and octave mandolin, and Sheila McEntee on bodhran and percussion.

The band plays mostly traditional Irish and Scottish music, but also plays some old-time and original compositions, all with an Appalachian twist.
