Garnetia Coburn

June 30, 1924 — March 14, 2019

Garneita June Coburn, 94, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 at her residence. The Ashland, Kentucky native was born June 30, 1924, a daughter of the late Earl L. and Edith Walters Coburn.

Ms. Coburn was a graduate of Ironton High School and a former inspector for Wilson Sporting Goods, retiring in 1986 after 32 years of service. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Willis Coburn and Sheldon “Jay” Coburn; and a sister, Theda Coburn Jenkins.

She is survived by three brothers, James Coburn, Gary Coburn, both of Ironton, and Denvil Coburn, of Gallipolis; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

Friends may call Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. 7th St., Ironton, and the funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the mausoleum at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, Kentucky with her nephews, Randy Jenkins and Scott Jenkins officiating.

Alfred “Sam” Myers

July 21, 1942 — March 14, 2019

Alfred Allen “Sam” Myers, 76, of Willow Wood, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday March 14, 2019.

He was born July 21, 1942 in Lawrence County to the late Roy and Florence Myers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Judson Myers; sister, Garnet Myers; mother-in-law and father-in-law, James and Myrtle Treadway; and sisters-in-law, Debbie and Chris Myers.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathryn Myers; his children, James and Beth Myers, Shawn and Dora Myers, Eric and Penney Myers, Matthew and Sarah Myers, Lance and Sharice Myers, Ryan and Becky Myers, Samantha and Tommy Wolfe, Blake and Lisa Myers, Brandon and Karissa Myers, and Kathryn and John Jeffrey; grandchildren, Anderson, Adalynn, Dustin, Stormi, David, Adam, Casey, Sammy, Jessica, Shawna, Erica, Summer, Kelsey, Keeley, Luci, Anna, Noah, Oaklyn, Jacob, Takoda, Julie, Angel, Jacob E., Bodie, Morgan, Gracie, Raydon, Abilene, Faith, Myleigh, Kayla, Kevin, Emily, Jesse, Landon, Xander and Henry; great-grandchildren, Maggie, Olivia, Josie, Killian, Lorali, Bailey, Benson, Waylon, Ares, Silas, Danny, McKenna, and Cali; brothers, Richard Myers and Lusher Myers; sisters-in-law Christine Scarberry and Melody Myers; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
