Lady Vikes’ trio trigger easy win

PROCTORVILLE — The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings won thanks to a three-headed monster.
Sarah Kingery, Morgan Jenkins and Emily Estep combined for seven hits and eight runs batted in as the Lady Vikings beat the Fairland Lady Dragons 20-6 on Tuesday.
Kingery was 3-4 with two RBI, Jenkins 2-4 and two RBI, and Estep was 2-4 and drove home a game-high four runs.
The Lady Vikings scored two in the first but Fairland got four in the bottom of the inning.
Symmes Valley (3-0) answered with four runs in the second as Kingery two-run double and Emily Estep a two-run single.
Jenkins’ two-run double and RBI singles by Ericca Ross and Kingery put the lead at 12-4.
The Lady Dragons got two runs back in the bottom of the inning, but the Lady Vikings scored five in the fourth to lead 17-6. An error scored two runs and Estep had her second two-run single to key the rally.
Lauren Wells had a two-run single as the Lady Vikings got three runs in the fifth.
Symmes Valley plays at Sciotoville East on Wednesday.
