Ohio Southern ‘I AM’ Series to feature alum: Brown will talk about coping with depression

Ohio University Southern’s “I AM” Speaker Series will feature an alum who will share his personal experiences of coping with depression.

Alan Brown, a graduate of OUS’s Electronic Media program who now works at WSAZ Newschannel 3, will talk about his journey to emotional well-being.

Brown’s “I AM” talk will include personal insight into the importance of overcoming the stigma attached to mental health issues and seeking treatment. Brown is also a musician, performing with the group, The Dividends.

The event is free and open to the public. It will be held Wednesday, April 10, from noon-1 p.m. in the Student Resource Commons Success Center, located on the second floor of the Collins Center on the Ironton Campus.

The “I AM” Speaker Series is sponsored by Southern’s Council on Diversity and Inclusion.
