OLBH president retiring: Halter has had 15 years in leadership

RUSSELL — On Thursday, Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital announced that its president, Kevin Halter, has made the decision to retire after a decade at the helm of both the hospital and the Bon Secours Kentucky Health System. His retirement comes after 15 total years in leadership positions at OLBH and Bon Secours. Halter’s retirement is effective April 30.
Jason Asic, chief operating officer of Mercy Health – West Hospital (Cincinnati), will serve as OLBH’s interim president.
Halter first joined OLBH in 2004 as vice president of planning and operations before assuming his current role as president in 2009. Halter earned a master’s degree in health administration from Xavier University in 1987 and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bowling Green State University.  
Halter retires after more than 33 years of executive leadership experience in healthcare including experience in strategic planning, operations, business development and management engineering.
During April, Halter will work with Asic to ensure a smooth leadership transition for OLBH and the Bon Secours Kentucky Health System.
