Big 3rd inning keys Fairland’s easy win

The Fairland Dragons parlayed 10 walks and seven hits for a 12-0 five-inning Ohio Valley Conference win over the Coal Grove Hornets on Wednesday.
The Dragons moved to 7-3 with the win and lead the OVC with a 5-0 record. Coal Grove slips to 3-5 and 1-3.
The game was scoreless until the third inning when the Dragons erupted for 10 runs. They added two more in the fourth to create the run rule win.
Gavin Hunt got the complete game win as he gave up just four hits, struck out five and did not issue a walk.
Dacoda Chapman led the offense by going 2-3 with a triple and four runs batted in. Kyle Rankin was 2-2.
Cory Borders went 2-2 for the Hornets.
