CHESAPEAKE — Keeping up with the Jones became keeping up with Morris.
Leadoff batter Rileigh Morris went 3-4, so No. 2 batter Grace Stevens went 3-4. Not to be outdone, No. 3 hitter Kylie Howard went 3-4.
Although no one else went 3-4, the Rock Hill Redwomen still collected 15 hits as they beat the Chesapeake Lady Panthers 12-1 in a five-inning Ohio Valley Conference game on Thursday.
Morris had a home run and four runs batted in while Howard had a double. Makenzie Hanshaw also homered for the Redwomen (8-2, 3-2).
Keilie Adams was 2-4 for Rock Hill.
Howard got the win as she allowed just three hits, struck out two and walked one. The only run was unearned.
Rock Hill began the game with a run in the first inning on singles by Morris, Stevens and Howard.
Chesapeake tied the game in the bottom of the inning when Katy Spears reached on an error and Rileigh Swann and Chloe Handley singled.
Rock Hill came right back with two runs in the second inning to take a 3-1 lead on a home run by Morris after Kelsey Olderham walked with two outs.
The Redwomen played long ball again in the third inning as Howards singled and Hanshaw belted a two-run homer and it was 5-1.
After a scoreless fourth inning, Rock Hill put the game away with seven runs in the fifth.
Keilie Adams and Sam Stamper both singled and Olderham had a sacrifice bunt. Morris singled for two runs and Stevens followed with a hit. Howard then doubled in the runners.
Hanshaw reached on an error and then Haliegh Rowe, Baylie Harrah and Adams all singled. Stamper was safe on an error that scored the final run.
