COAL GROVE — With warm weather finally here, the Dawson-Bryant school district celebrated with an event on Thursday.
A Family Fun Night took place at the middle school, featuring food, entertainment and more.
Principal Rick Roach said the purpose of the evening was “twofold.”
“It’s part of our afterschool program and we combined with the high school for the opportunity to get the community out,” he said. “And we just finished state testing and this is a reward for that.”
Roach said the event featured representatives from NECCO, who work with the school. He said the school was also giving out books, as well as providing information about the Hornet app for the school district.
It also had a visit from the BARKer Farm Mobile Petting Zoo, who had several animals on hand, including a camel, wallaby and Barbie, their newest addition, an African crested porcupine.
