Adams’ clutch hit gives Redwomen win

PEDRO — Just call her “Klutch” Keilie.
Keilie Adams got a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning that gave the Rock Hill Redwomen a 3-2 win over the Russell Lady Red Devils on Tuesday.
With the game tied, Rock Hill got the winning rally started on a double by winning pitcher Kylee Howard.
Kenzie Hanshaw walked, Haleigh Rowe was safe on an error to load the bases and then Adams got her clutch one-out RBI single.
Howard gave up seven hits, walked one and hit a batter in going the distance. Haven Layne took the loss as she allowed 10 hits, struck out four and walked four.
Rock Hill went up 2-0 in the second inning.
Baylie Harris, Adams and Sami Stamper all singled, Kelsey Olderham squeezed home a run and Grace Stevens reached on an error for a run.
Russell (12-9) tied the game in the fifth when Layne was hit by a pitch, Jaedon Boggs doubled and Josie Atkins singled them home.
Adams and Stamper each went 2-3 while Howards was 2-4.
