Lady Tigers win 10-0

PROCTORVILLE — Hits were at a premium, but not the runs for the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers.
Ironton had only five hits but blanked the Fairland Lady Dragons 10-0 in a five-inning Ohio Valley Conference game on Tuesday.
Mary Beth Burton pitched a two-hitter, struck out six and walked one in getting the win for Ironton (14-1, 7-0).
Peighton Rowe had another big game at the plate as she went 3-4 with a double and three runs batted in.
Ironton took a 2-0 lead in the second inning.
Riley Schreck reached second on an error, stole third and Haylee Stevens walked. Stevens went to second on defense indifference and Kylee Richendollar hit a sacrifice fly. Kiandra Martin was safe on an error as Stevens scored.
The lead went to 5-0 in the third.
Peighton Rowe doubled, stole third and scored when Taiya Hamlet grounded out. Keegan Moore reached second on an error, went to third on a passed ball and scored on Schreck’s line drive to shortstop that was misplayed.
Schreck then stole second and scored on a hit by Stevens.
Ironton got a run in the fourth when Burton singled, stole second and scored on a double by Rowe.
Ironton created the run rule with four runs in the fifth with two outs.
Stevens walked, Richendollar was safe on an error and Kendall Dodgion walked.
Burton walked to force home a run and Rowe singled to drive in two runs.
An error on the hit allowed Burton to score.
