Steven McFarland

Sept. 3, 1965 – April 15 2019

Steven Wayne “Boo” McFarland, 53, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away Monday, April 15, 2019, at home.

He was born in Smyrna, Tennessee, Sept. 3, 1965, a son of Rodney and Wilma McFarland of Ironton, and his wife, Kathy McFarland.

He was a 1983 graduate of Dawson Bryant High School and was a telecommunications network manager.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Charles “Chuck” McFarland and Timothy “Tim” McFarland.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is also survived by two sons, Logan McFarland and Duncan McFarland, both of Georgia; brother, Rodney (Cathy) McFarland; sister-in-law Margo McFarland of Ironton, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at Dawson-Bryant High School cafetorium, from 6-8 p.m. Monday. Friends and family are invited to come by to visit and share their memories.

Kustrina Delawder

Feb. 20, 1973 — April 16, 2019

Kustrina Mae Delawder, 46, of Ironton, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019.

Born Feb. 20, 1973 in Ironton, she was the daughter of Peggy Delawder and the late Custer Delawder.

In addition to her mother, she was survived by her three children, Dakota Shears, Cole Delawder, Willis Childers III; four brothers, Doug Jenkins, Terry Jenkins, Custer Delawder III, Michael and Terry Delawder; one grandchild, Aaliyah Shears; children she helped raise and care for, Brandi Jenkins, Harli Jenkins, Jordann Madden, Callie Madden, Kaylee Harris; and a host of extended family.

A viewing will be held at O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home on Friday from 6-8 P.M.

Ruth Nelson

July 21, 1944 — April 7, 2019

Ruth Nelson, 74, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019.

Ms. Nelson was born July 21, 1944, a daughter to the late Ellis and Leota Nelson. She attended Decatur Washington Schools and was a homemaker. She was of the Christian faith.
She is survived by three sons, Nick Lapetina, Brien Corwin and Jeff Hess; two daughters, Pamela Workman and Becky Swartz; two sisters, Susan Webb and Linda Schmidt; and a brother, Mark Nelson.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1007 S. 7th St., Ironton, with Rev. Brian Phillips officiating.

John Dodson

John Lacomas Dodson, 86 of Ashland, Kentucky, died Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rosa Dodson.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville, with visitation being held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
