ROME TOWNSHIP — As they have done for the past few years, the Wyngate at Rivers Edge hosted an Easter-themed community event on Friday.

A Brunch with the Bunny took place at the senior living community, located on County Road 107 in Rome Township.

Children and their families searched for 5,000 Easter eggs, enjoyed a pancake breakfast and posed for photos with the Easter Bunny.

There were also tubs with baby chicks and ducks set up, which the children could pet, as well as rabbits from the Ironton 4-H group.

“Tractor Supply in South Point loaned us the tubs,” activities director Julie Poff said. “We bought the chicks and ducks and donate them to a local farm after we’re finished.”

The Wyngate’s next community event is a spring farmer’s market, set for May 18, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Like the Easter event, it is free and open to the public.

“We want to give back to the community,” Poff said.
