Herd basketball inks 2 from Hoosac School

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Men’s basketball head coach Dan D’Antoni announced the signing of Goran Miladinovic and Marko Sarenac on Friday as part of the 2019 recruiting class. Both signees play at the Hoosac School in New York.
Miladinovic, a seven-foot center from Montenegro, averaged 13.5 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game for the Hoosac Owls. He played for Montenegro at the 2017 FIBA U18 European Championships and was originally committed to Elon before the Phoenix made a coaching change.
“He’s a modern big guy,” coach Bojan Grubisic said of Miladinovic. “He’s a big guy who can run like a guard. He’s got a great mid-range shot and shoots well on free-throws. He’s good in the low post, great defensively and plays is a good pick-and-roll player.”
Sarenac also played in the 2017 FIBA U18 European Championships is listed at 6-7 and can play a variety of positions on the court. The native of Serbia averaged 19.9 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 7.1 assists this season at Hoosac.
“Marko does everything,” Grubisic said about Sarenac. “He’s incredibly smart and reads the game well. He’s a very smart guy. He’s a great teammate and does it all rebounding, steals. He plays one through four.
