Local poets’ book to be sold at today’s event: Writers Series begins at 1 p.m. at OUS Ironton

Advance copies of a book by five regional poets will be on sale at an event at OUS today.

The Ohio University Southern Writers Series will close National Poetry Month with special readings this afternoon by writers who are featured in the upcoming book, “Feminine Rising: Voices of Power and Invisibility,” set to be published this June by Cynren Press.

The event, free and open to the public, is set for 1 p.m. in the Student Success Center, which is located on the second floor of the Collins Center on the Ironton Campus at 1804 Liberty Ave.

According to Sarah Diamond Burroway, director of external relations, communications and Workforce Success, for the school, the book is available for preorder on the publisher’s website at https://www.cynren.com/catalog/feminine-rising-voices-of-power-and-invisibility.

“It is also on Amazon for preorder,” she said. “And they’ll have advance copies for sale at the event.”

The writers include Dreama Pritt, an award-winning author of poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction; Tuesday Taylor, a storytelling poet; Andrea Fekete, a novelist and poet who co-curated Feminine Rising; Mary Imo-Stike, poet; and Cathy Cultice Lentes, a poet, essayist and children’s writer.
