Friday morning marks the return of Ironton Farmers Market for its seventh season.

The vendors will be selling their wares from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. or until they sell out of goods at Market Square on Second Street in downtown Ironton.

“The market has added some new vendors and it should be another exciting season,” said Sam Heighton, executive director of Ironton aLive. “All of the vendors you have gotten to know will be bringing those items you’ve gotten to know.”

Vendors will be selling flowers, honey, baked goods, some spring produce, starter plants, home made jewelry and other home made items such as soap, jelly, jam, maple syrup and a few surprises.

“Come out Friday and Saturday and welcome our family of vendors back for another season,” Heighton said.

Heighton said that Ironton aLive would have some special entertainment and events at the market throughout the summer.

“And on the second Saturday, Ironton In Bloom will once again serve free food,” he said.

The civic group buys food from the vendors at the market and then they cook it up for people attending the market in return for a donation. Proceeds are used for the beautification of Ironton.

Ironton In Bloom will also be having a plant sale from 8 a.m.-noon on May 11 as part of its annual fundraiser.

The Ironton Farmers Market is a project of Ironton aLive and sponsored by Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
