Frances Roslovic

Frances Emma Wagner Roslovic, 88, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family, friends, and her pets on Saturday, April 27, 2019. She was born in her family’s 1850s farmhouse near Wheelersburg, and graduated from Pedro High School.

Frances enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading, looking after her animals, playing cards, writing short stories, and golfing.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Nick; her parents, Frank and Carrie Sanders Wagner; and son-in-law, Graham Tomblin.

Frances is survived by her seven children, Jovan (Bob), Nina, Nick (Tina), Dan (Carla), John (Melissa), Dian (Kris) and Adam (Meredith); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Ann “Rooney” Wagner; nieces, Eileen Sobat of Midland, Pennsylvania and Jennifer Poulson of Hilliard; and nephews, Tim Rajsich of Boise, Idaho, David Rajsich of Phoenix, and Gary Rajsich of Baltimore, Maryland.

The family is grateful to her caregivers, particularly Jodie, Vickie and Lisa.

Viewing hours are Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Schoedinger Northeast in Gahanna, Ohio, 1051 E. Johnstown Road; with services Friday at 11am at St. Stevan of Dechani Serbian Orthodox Church at 1840 Cassady Avenue 43219 in Columbus. Entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Nick and Frances were Kumovi (“godparents”) of St. Stevan’s, which they helped found and build.

Bertha Nutter

Dec. 11, 1934 – April 30, 2019

Bertha Rose Proctor Nutter, 84, of Ironton, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Harbor Health Care Center, Ironton.

Mrs. Nutter was born Dec. 11, 1934, in Kanawha County, West Virginia, a daughter to the late Mawry Proctor and Julia White Barton.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, James R. Nutter, whom she married Sept. 9, 1955.

Mrs. Nutter was a graduate of Sherman High School and Charleston School of Nursing, where she received her registered nurse degree. She was a retired director of nursing for Jo-Linn’s Nursing Home for 18 years. She was also a member of Grace Bible Church in Ironton, she was very strong in faith and was a missionary in West Africa.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son-in-law, Rodney Dunn; daughter-in-law, Tammy Nutter; sister, Virginia Marte and brother-in-law, Fred Marte.
She is survived by two daughters, Kenna Nutter of Scott Depot, West Virginia and Jana Dunn of Parker City, Indiana; three sons, Timothy (Linda) Nutter of Woodstock, Georgia, James D. (Carolyn) Nutter of Cincinnati, and Steve Nutter of Coal Grove; and brother, John (Lynn) Barton, of Charlottsville, Virginia.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. Sixth St., Ironton, with Dr. Kevin Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Joan Mosco

Oct. 17, 1931– April 24, 2019

Joan Elizabeth Currington Mosco, 87, of Henrico, Virginia, formerly of Ironton, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2019.

She was born Oct. 17, 1931, a daughter of the late Thomas F. Currington and Erma Bowman Currington, of Ironton.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Anthony D. Mosco.

She was a 1949 graduate of Ironton High School and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

She was also an employee of 31 years of AEP Kentucky Power Division.

She is survived by her two daughters, Martha (Kenneth) Campbell of Henrico, Virginia and Rosalia Lilly of Radford, Virginia; four grandchildren: Erin Lilly of Ironton, Amelia Campbell of Dallas, Texas, Christopher Lilly of Radford, Virginia and Kenneth Campbell of Henrico, Virginia.

She is also survived by a sister, Gloria Mauthe of Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. 7th St., Ironton. Funeral Mass will follow at Saint Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church at 11 a.m. with burial in Woodland Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Manorhouse Assisted Living of Henrico, Virginia and Ascend Hospice for the love and care for Joan during the past few months.

Mary F. Argus, 94, of Brevard, North Carolina, formerly of Ironton, died April 17, 2019, at a hospital in Brevard, North Carolina.

Charitable contributions in her memory may be made to St. Labre Indian School, Ashland, Mont. 59004.

Earnest Earl

Earnest H. Earl, 93, of Proctorville, died Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at The Wyngate at River’s Edge, Proctorville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Earl.

Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller. Visitation will be held 6–8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
