Georgene Weber
Jan. 12, 1921–May 1, 2019

Georgene Day Weber, 98, of Greensboro, North Carolina, formerly of Ironton, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2019.

She was born Jan. 12, 1921, the daughter of the late Walter Day and Mary Ethel Day in Pedro.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 45 years, Robert Joseph Weber, whom she married on Dec. 15, 1948.

Georgene graduated from Ironton High School and Portsmouth School of Nursing where she received her diploma as a registered nurse.

She enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a registered nurse in the European Theatre during WWII. She received the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the Meritorious Service Unit Plaque.

After discharge from the U.S. Army, she worked for many years as a registered nurse at Lawrence County General Hospital in Ironton.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Waller and Opal Swindler; and brother, Woodrow Day.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Weber and Lisa Kleinline (Bruce) of Greensboro, North Carolina; and sons, Robert Weber (Janet) of Stockton, New Jersey and David Weber (Diana) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Elizabeth Weber (Carl Allsop), Megan George (Michael), Rachael Perrin (Anthony), Kyle Kleinline and Caroline Kinn (Stephen); and two great grandchildren, McKenzie and Natalie Perrin.

Graveside service will be conducted on Monday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Ironton. Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. 7th St., Ironton, will be handling arrangements.

Mary Kearns
May 19, 1951–April 27, 2019

Mary Ann Gannon Kearns, 67, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky.

Mrs. Kearns was born May 19, 1951 in Ironton, a daughter to Beatrice Dobson Gannon and the late Ralph M. Gannon.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen “Butch” Edward Kearns, who passed away Feb. 27, 2017.
Mrs. Kearns was a 1969 graduate of St. Joseph High School and had worked for Liebert and Cabletron.

In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Glenn Edward “Eddie” Kearns; and nephew, David “Scott” Gannon.

Mary Ann is survived by her mother and five siblings, Tom (Kathie) Gannon of Monroe, OH, Barbara Gannon of Dublin, Teresa Gannon of Powell, Sharon Gannon of Ironton, and David (Mary Lou) Gannon of Delaware; granddaughter, Samantha Spencer of South Point; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass will be held 1 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 905 S. 5th Street, Ironton, with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. 7th St., Ironton, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lloyd Myers
Oct. 12, 1933– May 2, 2019

Lloyd “Earl” Myers, 85, of Scottown, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky.

Mr. Myers was born Oct. 12, 1933, in Lecta, a son to the late Allen Oliver and Nellie Pearl (Davis) Myers.

Mr. Myers was a graduate of Waterloo High School, and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a self-employed farmer, a member of Ohio Laborers working construction on pipeline and retired from Symmes Valley Local Schools as a bus driver. He was a member of Fox Fairview Baptist Church in Scottown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Marie Wass, Maxine Massie, Mae Capper and Ivaden Holchun; and four brothers, Sam, Roy, Dale and Jim Myers.

Earl is survived by two daughters, Connie (Kenneth) Callicoat of Scottown, and Teresa Osborne of Ironton; sister, Elanor Roach of Springfield; four grandchildren, Steven Callicoat, of Willow Wood, Erica Callicoat of Ironton, Chad Cartmell of Ironton and Kimmi Osborne of Ironton; and two great grandchildren, Tyler Stapleton and Hunter Bruce both of Ironton.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. 7th St., Ironton, with Pastor Darrell

Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Okey Cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
