COAL GROVE — The Fairland Dragons finished out their Ohio Valley Conference schedule with an exclamation point.
The Dragons beat the Coal Grove Hornets 13-4 on Tuesday to finish the league as outright champions with a 12-2 record. They are 17-5 overall.
Garrett Looney went 4.2 innings of relief to get the win. He struck out two, walked one, gave up three hits and only one of the two runs he allowed were earned.
Brennan West led the offense as he went 2-3 with a two-run homer in the seventh innings.
Gavin Hunt went 3-4, Bryan Defoe 2-3 and Alex Rogers 2-5 as Fairland collected 10 hits.
Nate Harmon was 2-4 with a double and an RBI for the Hornets. Five other players had one hit each.
