Rebecca Burton

Feb. 26, 1940– May 7, 2019

Rebecca Arlene Burton, 79, of Huntington, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019, in St. Mary’s Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 26, 1940 in Ft. Gay, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Robert Samuel and Laura Arlene Phillips Crutcher. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cosper William “Skip” Burton; and two brothers, Robert Samuel, and Vincent.

She was a cancer survivor and an avid family genealogist. She loved her rose garden. Survivors include, a daughter, Mary Laura (Dewayne) Sutphin of Huntington, West Virginia; a son, Mark (Sherri) Burton of Ironton; six grandchildren, Jarrett Osborne, Patrick (Lori) Bowen, Ryan (Holly) Osborne, Michelle (Jason) Easthom, Caitie McCallister, and Mary Beth Burton; five great grandchildren, Gavin, Taylor, Kaydence, Harper, and Tristan; and siblings, George, Joe, Ramona, Susan, Victor and also a special aunt and friend, Toni Billups.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center IMCU for all their care.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, West Virginia. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, West Virginia.

Visitation will be from 1–2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Anita Mowery

Feb. 17, 1964– May 5, 2019

Anita Lou (Cochran) Mowery, 55, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, Ashland, Kentucky. Anita was born Feb. 17, 1964, in Ironton, a daughter to Ronald Cochran and the late Karen (Burke) Cochran. She is survived by her husband, Denny Mowery.

Anita was a graduate of Ironton High School and was a customer service employee for Tudor’s. She loved spending time with all of her family, especially her grandkids. Anita was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by three daughters, Heather Ritchie of Russell, Kentucky, Courtney Mowery of Worthington, Kentucky and Kristen Mahaney of Flatwoods, Kentucky; sister, Rhonda Nolte of Ashland, Kentucky; step-mother, Janice Cochran; and four precious grandchildren.

Funeral service for Anita will be 1 p.m. Saturdayat the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 South 6th Street, Ironton, with Pastor Tom Ross officiating, burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, 11 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
