ALBANY — The Rock Hill Redwomen had the misfortune of catching a team on a hot streak.
The Redwomen battled the streaking Alexander Lady Spartans only to lose 6-3 in the Division III sectional finals.
Alexander (18-5) won its fifth sectional title in six seasons. The Lady Spartans have won 11 of their last 13 games.
Erin Scurlock singled home runs in the first and third innings to give the Lady Spartans a 2-0 lead.
Rock Hill (16-7) tied the game with two runs in the top of the fourth on a two-run double by Kylie Howard with no outs. However, Howard was left stranded at third base.
Alexander answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning.
Jadyn Mace doubled but was held up as Audrey Ross hit a bloop single. Halie Miller sacrificed the runners up a base and Ashley Cooper beat out a bunt to load the bases.

Rock Hill got within 5-3 on Grace Stevens’ run-scoring double in the fifth.
