The West Virginia Thunder girls’ basketball teams for the 2026 and 2027 senior years recently won the Naismith NYAA tournament in Blacksburg, Va. Both Thunder teams faced players from Florida,Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia and both teams went undefeated in their divisions and won the championship game. The teams are comprised on local girls from the Tri-State area. They also will play in GBA Nationals, U.S. Amateurs and AAU Nationals as well as tournament in Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Gatlinburg and Knoxville.
