Ruby Akers

May 21, 1935– May 10, 2019

Ruby Akers, 83, of Ironton, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019, at a local health care facility. The Lawrence County native was born May 21, 1935, the daughter of the late Walter and Daisy Carmon Akers.

Ruby was a former employee for the Ashland Plaza Hotel. She was also a beautiful seamstress and loved her cats.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lola Louise Bryant; and a stepbrother, Shirley Akers.

She is survived by nieces, Sue (Randy) Addis of Ironton, Karen Malone of Dunedin, Florida and Connie Bryant Fields of Las Vegas, Nevada; and several great-nieces and nephews

Graveside Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Woodland Cemetery, Section P, with Rev. James Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow.

Carolyn Bradshaw

Carolyn Sue Bradshaw, 68, of South Point, died Friday, May 10, 2019, at home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry R. Bradshaw. She was a former deputy sheriff for Lawrence County. No services will be held. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Benita Asbury

Benita B. Asbury, 58, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Friday, May 10, 2019, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia.

Visitation will be held 5–7 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.
