On Monday, Arrick’s Propane, along with members of the VFW and Ironton Boy Scout Troop 106, had a flag retirement ceremony.

The event introduced the community to a new American flag disposal box at Arrick’s Propane location on State Route 650. The box is available for anyone to bring in American flags that have become faded or frayed and need to be properly retired.

Officials on hand included Ironton Mayor Katrina Keith, Ohio Rep. Brian Baldrigde, R-90, and Juli Stephens, field representative for U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson, R-Ohio, along with representatives from the offices of Gov. Mike DeWine, Lt. Gov. Jon Husted and Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague.
