Helen Kidd
Oct. 21, 1936 – May 30, 2019

Helen T. Kidd, 82, of Pedro, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019 at her home in Pedro, surrounded by family. The Superior, Ohio native was born Oct. 21, 1936, a daughter of the late Dewey and Helen Sharp Depriest. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Lloyd “Gene” Kidd, whom she was married to for 61 years.
Helen was a retired cook for the Rock Hill School District and a former employee of Wilson’s Sporting Goods. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Edward Depriest, Walter Depriest, Clarence Depriest, Donald Depriest and Raymond Depriest; and six sisters, Gertrude Carmon, Rose Besco, Manilla Herrell, Verna McFann, Melody and Marjorie Depriest.
She is survived by two sons, Blaine (Bev) Kidd and Brian (Tamara) Kidd, Sr., both of Pedro; five grandchildren, Brian (Christina) Kidd Jr., Jason (Tiffani) Kidd, Michelle (Jeff) Blakeman, Molly (Clayton) Bryant and Breanne (Josh) Schwab; nine great-grandchildren, Levi Harr, Kylie Davis, Kaleb Schwab, Josie Kidd, Kylan Kidd, Brian Lee Kidd III, Vander Green, Zaylan Blakeman and Karigan Kidd; and two sisters, Judy Hanes and Vera Markel.
The family would also like to give a special thanks to Carrie Ann Neal for helping care for Helen the past two years.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Elder Davie Heavner and Jeff Blakeman officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery and visitation will be Sunday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. James Anthony Baker Jr., 52, of Chesapeake, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019.
No services will be held.
