In just a few years, South Point residents will see the start of a long-awaited construction project as the village begins work on constructing sidewalks on several high-traffic streets.
This comes as the result of Mayor Jeff Gaskin and leaders securing $800,000 in grant funding from the KYOVA Interstate Planning Commission.

Planning can now begin and the funds should be available when the village is ready to begin work.

This will be a major gain for public safety for pedestrians in many parts of the village, which is highly residential.

The funds are is the latest grant to come to our region, following Coal Grove securing funds to replace all water lines in the village.

These grants are highly competitive and much hard work goes into landing them.

Residents of South Point and Coal Grove can be thankful their leaders took the initiative and worked to bring about these much-needed improvements.
