Lacey Lucas

May 25, 1937 – June 11, 2019

Lacey Marshall Lucas, 82, of Ironton claimed his rewards as he entered heaven on June 11, 2019 at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House in Huntington, West Virginia.

The devoted son of the late Raymond and Dena (McConda) Lucas was born in Barboursville, West Virginia on May 25, 1937.

Lacey joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1960. While serving at Loring Air Force Base in Loring, Maine, he met the love of his life, Constance Mae Folsom. They were married Dec. 20, 1960 and together celebrated 55 years of marriage. Connie preceded him in death on July 11, 2016.

Lacey leaves behind a daughter, Lisa Rae Lucas and her husband, Aaron Bailey and his treasured grandchildren, Meghan Rae Martin and Andrew Lucas Christian. Through them he gained his bonus grandchildren, Kyle Martin and Ashlee Christian. On the first day of this year, he was blessed with a great grandson, Kayden Ace Christian, who quickly became his shining star.

Lacey retired as an adult education instructor from Collins Career Center. He was previously employed with the Ironton Coke Plant for 19 years.

There are no words to express the totality of the loss to our family. Dad was the true epitome of a family man, always putting us first and leaving us without a doubt of how very much he loved us. We were so fortunate to call him ours and will spend the remainder of our lives honoring his legacy.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with Pastor Ken Martin officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Nancy Hamilton

Sept. 15, 1949 – June 11, 2019

Nancy Marie (Newland) Hamilton, 69, of Ironton, died June 11, 2019.

The Lima native was born Sept. 15, 1949, the daughter of Floyd Newland and Alice L Miller, both deceased.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Paul. She was preceded by two brothers, Raymond and Ricky Routt.

She is survived by one son, John Paul and wife, Angie, Hamilton, of Ironton; one daughter, Alice Melissa and husband, Timothy, Reed; three grandchildren, Stephen Brown, Sara Hamilton and Samuel Reed; and a great granddaughter, Spencer Claire Brown, all of Ironton; and one sister, Ada “Punkin” Morlock, of Lima.

Graveside service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery on Friday 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. at O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home with James Smedley officiating.

Lisa Fitzwater

Lisa Fitzwater, 43, of Huntington, West Virginia, passed away Sunday June 9, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. She is survived by her fiancé, Gilbert Lawrence.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Bowen Cemetery, Huntington, West Virginia. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Caspian J. Hampton

Caspian J. Hampton, infant son of Derek Hampton and Brittani Pelley, passed away Tuesday June 11, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia.

There will be no services.
