4 arrested in drug raid: Accused of selling crystal methamphetamine

PROCTORVILLE — An early morning raid by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office in Proctorville ended with four being arrested on drug charges on Tuesday.

Around 8 a.m., members of the sheriff’s office and the Lawrence County Drug and Major Crimes Taskforce executed a search warrant at a residence at 217 Cranford Lane after a months-long investigation to alleged drug sales.

For the past several months, the task force had gotten complaints about crystal methamphetamine and other illegal drugs being sold at the house. Members of the task force made several controlled purchases of what they believed to be crystal methamphetamine, which lead to the search of the house on Tuesday.

During the search, officers seized crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, cash, two firearms and a drug ledger.

Those arrested were Jasmine G. Mendoza, 23, Richard E. Ellis, 48, Stephanie A. Harrison, 52, and Helen M. Bellville, 72.

They were all charged were first-degree felony charges and will be arraigned in the Lawrence County Municipal Court on Friday.

Three children under the age of 5 were taken into the care of Lawrence County Children Services. Lawrence County EMS provided medical support during the raid.
