Edna Neal

Aug. 14, 1923 – June 25, 2019

Edna Mae Neal, 95, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, Kentucky.

Mrs. Neal was born Aug. 14, 1923, in Lawrence County, a daughter to the late Andrew and Margaret (Gilbert) Sites. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 75 years, Edwin Neal, who passed away November 17, 2018.

Mrs. Neal attended Coal Grove High School and was a homemaker. She loved bingo, crocheting, and cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of Woodland Chapel Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Leonard Neal and Frank (Judy) Neal; and four sisters: Blanche, Dorothy, Belle and Martha.

She is survived by a daughter, Katherine McClaskey of Ironton; a daughter-in-law, Janet Neal of Ironton; seven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren

Funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday, at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Brother Nathan Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in Leatherwood Cemetery and visitation will be Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.

Theodore Leach

April 13, 1936 – June 25, 2019

A. “Theodore” Leach, 83, of Pedro, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Leach was born April 13, 1936, in Lawrence County, a son to the late Austin B. and Stella Mae (Schugg) Leach. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Glenna Eldridge Leach, who passed away December 2008. He is survived by his wife, Delores Reynolds Leach, whom he married July 11, 2009.

Mr. Leach was a 1956 graduate of Pedro High School. Mr. Leach was a self-employed painter; and former maintenance man for Bryant Nursing Home and the Marting House; he was also a stock clerk for Shiloh Foods. Mr. Leach was a licensed Baptist minister; and was a former pastor of Johnstown Baptist Church and was a member of Storms Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Vincent Leach; a sister, Sadie Summers; and a brother, Homer Leach.

In addition to his wife, Delores, he is survived by a stepdaughter, Lona Pennington of Pedro.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Haverhill Cemetery with Rev. Kenny Hurst officiating. Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Brandon Craft

April 21, 1997 – June 21, 2019

Brandon Thomas Lee Craft, 22, of Willow Wood, passed away Friday, June 21, 2019, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia.

Brandon was born April 21, 1997, in Ashland, Kentucky, a son to Donny Craft and Melissa Ramey Gates.

Brandon was a 2016 graduate of Symmes Valley High School, where he was a member of football, basketball and baseball teams; and received many awards for his athleticism. Brandon also was a 2016 graduate Collins Career Center welding class. He worked for Mid Ohio Pipeline.

In his youth, Brandon was very active in 4-H and was a member of Arabia All Stars. Brandon loved the outdoors; he enjoyed fishing, especially with his brother; riding his 4-wheeler and spending time with his family and friends. Brandon was a great friend to many, and was known for “always having a big smile on his face.” He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

Brandon was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Charles Ramey.

Brandon is survived by mother and step-father, Melissa and Chris Gates of Willow Wood; father and step-mother, Donny and Tina Craft of Pedro; two brothers, Josh (Lexi Casteel) Craft of Proctorville and Jaxon Gates of Willow Wood; sister, Teddilyn Craft of Pedro; special nephew and niece, who were the light of his life, Brentley Craft and Charlee Craft; maternal grandmother, Treva Ramey of Willow Wood; paternal grandparents, Nancy and Ron Bowling of Ashland, Kentucky and Don and Jerri Craft of Ironton; and paternal great-grandmother, Enola Cade of Pedro.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Symmes Valley High School Gymnasium, 14778 State Route 141, Willow Wood, with Pastor Justin Berry, Pastor Chris Johnson and Pastor Dale Henson officiating, and burial will follow in Aid Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be noon Sunday until time of the service at Symmes Valley High School. Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rickey Wilson

Rickey Allen Wilson, 63, of Chesapeake, died Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia.

Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Rebecca Evelyn Fritz, 88, of Chesapeake, died Wednesday June 26, 2019, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia.

Robert Dale Thompson, 65, of Ironton, died at the VA Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia, Saturday, June 22, 2019.

Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with military rites provided by VFW Post #8850.

Martha Ellen Karlet, 92, of South Point, died June 25, 2019.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with burial following at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point.
