David Morris

Nov. 6, 1948 – July 9, 2019

David “Butch” Eugene Morris, 70, of Kitts Hill, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Ironton on Nov. 6, 1948 to the late David Melvin and Wanda (Reed) Morris. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Brenda (Kelly) Morris, whom he married, Oct. 19, 1968.

David attended Dawson-Bryant schools, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country in Vietnam.

After he returned home he worked for Ironton Iron, Allegheny Fire Equipment and Rivers Bend Golf Course. David also served on the Lawrence Township Volunteer Fire Department and played golf for the Senior Tour League. He was a member of the Bald Knob United Brethren Church.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters,: Donna Massie and Bonnie Scott; and a brother, James Morris.

David is survived by two daughters, Christy Prince (Sonny Steele), of Willow Wood, and Amy Brady (Gene Meadows), of Kitts Hill; three grandchildren, Sammie and Paden Brady, of Kitts Hill, and Kelly Prince, of Willow Wood; a very close aunt, Luella Turvey, of Coal Grove; a very close nephew, Tim Massie, of Kitts Hill; and three very close friends, Jack Harshbarger, of Sarasota, Florida, Frank Jenkins, of Ironton, and Clarence Fowler, of Ironton.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. 6th St., Ironton, with Pastor Jim Kearns officiating. Interment will follow in Aid Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 6 – 8 p.m. and from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Butch’s honor to Ashland Community Hospice, 2330 Pollard Rd., Ashland, Ky.

Patricia Sorrell

Patricia Sorrell, 58, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Monday, July 8, 2019 at home.

No services will be held.

Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jack Turner

Jack G. Turner, 78 of Chesapeake, died July 8, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Mannon Turner.

Funeral services will be held at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point.
