Ironton 10-12-Year-Olds Win District 11

The Ironton 10-12-year-old All-Stars won the District 11 championship and will play Gallion at 4 p.m. Saturday in the state tournament at Bevelhymer Park in New Albany. A win will pit them against Youngstown Boardman at 4 p.m. on Sunday but a loss drops them into the loser’s bracket on Monday at 5:30 p.m. Ironton finished district play 6-0 in the tournament held at Fairland Little League. Ironton beat Gallipolis 7-4, Rock Hill 7-4, Fairland 13-9 and Fairland 12-5 in eight innings. In the championship series against the Scioto County champions, Ironton beat Portsmouth West 16-0 in four innings and then 12-2 in four innings.
