Creek Don’t Rise to play Ironton: Appalachian Blues band is from Huntington

Ironton aLive’s Tuesday Night Concert series continues this week with the band, Creek Don’t Rise, from Huntington, West Virginia.

The band’s sound includes soul, blues, rock, country and any song that speaks to them.

They describe their music as “raw soul dripping with Appalachian Blues. Whether it’s the full band or the acoustic duo that started it all, you will feel every note and live every word.”

Band members include Marcus Oglesby on vocals, guitar and harmonica, Jerry Lee Brooks on guitar, Rebecca M. Harrison on bass and Hogan Bentle on drums.

Influences included B.B. King, Led Zeppelin, Johnny Cash, The Beatles, Prince and Merle Haggard.

The concert starts at 6:30 p.m. at the pavilion in Market Square.

In the event of bad weather, the concert will take place at the Ro-Na Theater, one block away on South Third Street. People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
