Peggy Baker Day

July 20, 1935 – July 31, 2019

Peggy Baker Day, 84, of Ironton, passed away with her family on Wednesday, July 31, 2019.
She was born on July 20, 1935, the daughter of the late Bruce and Dovie Tipton Davis.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence F. “Sonny” Baker II, and husband, Harlan Day; one son, Charles E. Baker; and one grandson-in-law, Peter Underwood.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and The D.A.R.
She is survived by a son, John D. (Judy) Baker and a daughter, Charla “Sissy” (Bob) Clyse. Also a niece, Jill VonRothe, who she helped raise. Grandchildren include Tyler (Savannah) Clyse, Austin (Michael) Underwood Piper, Crosby Clyse, Duncan Ramsay, Sunni (Joseph) Unger, Sydnee (Tim) Baker-Combs, John David Baker Jr.; great grandchildren include Finley, Briar and Rowan Clyse, Lyla and Jude Underwood and Jago Piper.
Funeral services will be held on Monday 11 a.m. at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home, 1108 S, Sixth St., Ironton with Fr. Charles Moran and Rev. Jim Smedly officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery section 12.

Judith Damron

May 3, 1943 — July 27, 2019

Judith Ann Damron, 76, of Coal Grove, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky.
She was born May 3, 1943, daughter of the late Leo and Gladys Gool Brammer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Gail Blair.
Judith is survived by her daughter, Kelli and Jim (Bones) Bowman; one granddaughter, Emily Bowman; one nephew, B.J. and Donna Blair; one niece Lisa and Mike Allen; brother-in-law, Walt Blair; and special cousin, Connie Douglas.
No services will be held.
Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rickey Schwab

Feb. 13, 1955 – July 30, 2019

Rickey Ervin Schwab, 64, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at his residence.
Mr. Schwab was born in Ironton on Feb. 13, 1955, a son to Mary (Pete) Clark Schwab.
Rickey was a graduate of Rock Hill High School. He was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Desert Storm. He was staff sargeant, Special Service drill sargaent, master gunner and was awarded Bronze Star with Valor, Meritorious Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal-7 and Afghanistan Campaign Medal-75.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Greg Henry
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Jamie (Brian) Schwab-Radake of St. Louis, Missouri; granddaughter, Kylie Radake; sister Diane Francis; and two brothers, Danny Henry and Bill (Robin) Bordelon; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North East, Greenup, Kentucky with Rev. Glenn Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. – noon Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton.
