Fairland golfers win Ironton Invitational

PINE GROVE — By placing three among the top five, the Fairland Dragons were on top overall.
Fairland had three players on the all-tournament team as the Dragons won Wednesday’s Ironton Invitational Golf Tournament at the Ironton Country Club.
Clayton Thomas led Fairland and all golfers with a 69 for medalist honors. Mason Manns shot an 84 and Landon Roberts an 85.
Chesapeake Panthers’ Jacob Lemley was runner-up with a 78 and Coal Grove’s Jake Sites was next with an 81.
Fairland had a 335-team score with Chesapeake second at 345. Coal Grove was next at 387 and Ironton St. Joseph 406.
Portsmouth and Ironton had only three golfers participate and did not qualify with a team score.
