Diana Crawford

Diana Lynn Crawford, a beautiful, strong and talented young woman, has finally left us and went home.

Leaving to mourn are her mother, Gloria Diane Valentine; stepfather David Valentine; five children, Kenneth Jr., Aaron, Brittany, Dakota and Skyler Wilson; two sisters, Rebecca Holstein and A’andrea Crawford; a half-brother Chuck Crawford; her uncle Keith (Keddy) Bennett; her “Addy” Aunt Alice Mullin; Brandi Howard; plus eight grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; family and friends!

Services will be at City Mission Church at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

Betty Jones

May 6, 1935 – Aug. 6, 2019

Betty Doris Middleton Jones, 84, of Ironton, where she resided at the residence of her daughter, Ramona, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019.

The Lawrence County native was born May 6, 1935, the daughter of the late Lee and Cora Stamper Middleton.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Ronald C. Jones, who passed away in May of 2012.

Betty attended Decatur-Blackfork Schools and was a former employee of Ironton City Schools and Wilson Sporting Goods. She attended First Baptist Church in Greenup, Kentucky.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Dillon; and two brothers, Charles and Ralph Middleton.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen (John) Pauley, of Crossville, Tennessee and Ramona King, of Ironton; grandchildren, Bethany Thompson, of Ocala, Florida, Wesley (Melissa) Thompson, of Alva, Florida, Sarah Kaufman, of Crossville, Tennessee, Garett (Jessica) King, of Reynoldsburg, and Kaitlyn King (Will) Moore, of Ironton; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Eula Akers, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Phyllis (James) McCaffity, of Carthage, North Carolina and Debra (Richard) Nemeth, of Oak Hill; brothers, Herman Middleton, of Pedro, Gerald Middleton and Randy Middleton, both of Jackson; a special aunt, Charlene McClellan, of Ironton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Haverhill Cemetery with Pastor Tom Melvin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road Southwest, Lilburn, GA 30047.

Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Donald H. DeLawder

July 9, 1952 – Aug. 4, 2019

Don was born July 9, 1952 in Ironton, to the Rev. Donald R. & Gloria (Rowe) DeLawder.

He attended Symmes Valley High School and graduated in 1970.

He is survived by his wife, Edna (Baker) DeLawder; daughters, Lena “Renee” DeLawder, Rebecca (Andrew) DeLawder-Linn; granddaughters, Josey and Kaelyn Linn, all of Waverly; daughter, Selena Infante; grandsons, Brandon (Steven) Reynosa, Jonathan Pruneda, all of Lone Tree, Colorado; sisters, Patricia Heaberlin, Linda (Max) Myers, Amber DePriest; his brother, Timothy (Stella) DeLawder, all of Ironton; several nieces and nephews; and his loving aunt, Glenna Myers.

Don was preceded in death by his son, Donald H. DeLawder Jr.; and grandparents, Erie and Ada Rowe, and Noah and Eva DeLawder.

Whether you had met Don for five minutes chatting in line at the gas station or had known him all of your life, any time you saw him, he always gave you a great story.

He was a connoisseur of small talk and a lover of all things historical, especially genealogy. Loving all things outdoors he was an avid hunter, fisherman and a man with a keen eye for photographing nature.

Don was a man who held a deep appreciation for the simple things in life. He showed us all how to slow down, not sweat the small stuff and embrace the time you are given.

We welcome you to join us for the celebration of Don’s life at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, from 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday, where we can all share some of our great memories.

Tabatha Ilean Canaday, 47, of Columbus, died Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at home.

Vonda Eagle

Vonda Lee Eagle, 89, of South Point, died Monday Aug. 5, 2019 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, West Virginia.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Eagle.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday at Central Freewill Baptist Church in Huntington, West Virginia with visitation one hour before the service at the church.

Dorothy A. Radcliff, 92, of Proctorville, died Tuesday Aug. 6, 2019 at Wyngate at River’s Edge in Proctorville.
