Dorothy Sunseri

Aug. 5, 1952 – June 8, 2109

Dorothy A. (Hacker) Sunseri, 66, passed away after a sudden illness on June 8, 2019 in Haines City, Florida.

She was born Aug. 5, 1952 to the late Lawrence W. Hacker Sr. and Rosalia Holtzapfel Hacker. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ironton and attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pine Grove.

Dorothy was a 1971 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Ironton. She earned an associate degree in computer science at Ohio University Southern. Dorothy spent her working years employed by the Ironton-Lawrence County Head Start as a teacher’s assistant, Lawrence County General as both a custodian and a mail clerk and as an associate at Lowe’s Home Improvement in Russell, Kentucky. She was especially fond of all her family and friends.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Jerry Sunseri; stepdaughter, Susan Bowman, of Flatwoods, Kentucky; stepson James Sunseri, of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; beloved grandchildren, Kaya and Zane Bowman; brother, Lawrence (Bernadette) Hacker Jr.; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a dear, life-long friend, Nancy Kline Webb.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mary’ Church in Pine Grove. Father David Huffman will be officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery at Pine Grove. Following the burial, there will be a meal for the family and friends at the Parish Life Center in Ironton.

Wesley Earls

Wesley Earls, 52 of Huntington, West Virginia, died Thursday Aug. 8, 2019 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, West Virginia.

He is survived by his companion, Jamie Elkins.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. Burial will follow at Burlington Greenlawn Cemetery in Burlington. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Robert Byrd

Robert Lee Byrd, 66, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Monday, Aug 5, 2019.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Schneider-Hall Funeral Home in Chesapeake is assisting the family with arrangements.

Kimberly Maynard

Kimberly Dawn Maynard, 51 of Huntington, West Virginia, died on Friday Aug. 9, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Keith Maynard.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Trinity Church of God, 2688 Third Ave., Huntington, West Virginia. Visitation will be half an hour before the service.
