On Wednesday, Ohio University Southern hosted an open house for the Southern Launch, it s new business incubator.

The idea behind the project is to create a place in Lawrence County to provide start-up businesses with office space and access to equipment and services.

OUS would provide these resources, that may have otherwise been to cost-prohibitive for a new company to afford on its own.

The project came about through Regional Innovation for Ohio University, which has developed business incubators in Athens.

Our region is always in need of jobs and any help that is provided to entrepreneurs to get them going in launching anew business is a welcome development.

We encourage anyone looking to pursue their dreams and seeking to open a business to look into the business incubator.

It could provide the needed to boost to allow individuals and groups to continue to strengthen our region’s economy.
