Lady Fighting Tigers pick up pair of Ohio Valley Conference volleyball wins

It was a play well in one game, get another one just like it.
The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers got a straight sets volleyball win on Tuesday and followed it with another 3-0 win on Thursday in two Ohio Valley Conference games.
Ironton beat the injury-riddled Rock Hill Redwomen 25-3, 25-11 and 25-8 on Tuesday.
Lydia Hannan had 17 points, Mary Beth Burton 21 points with eight aces, Samantha LaFon two points with two aces, Karmeren Arden one point, Peighton Rowe 20 points including 11 aces and Devin Forest two points and two aces.
Arden led Ironton with 11 assists and Hannan had 10.
LaFon got 15 kills, Burton three and Forest two.
The Lady Tigers (3-3) notched their second league win on Thursday by beating the Coal Grove Lady Hornets in straight sets, 25-14, 25-18 and 25-13.
The scoring was balanced led by Burton who racked up 14 points while Rowe had 10, Hannan nine and Riley Schreck eight.
Arden and LaFon added two each.
Burton had four aces with her point total while Rowe and Schreck had two each.
Rowe led the defense with 10 digs and Burton tallied six. Evan Williams had three, Hannan and Arden two each while Schreck and Forest had one apiece.
LaFon led with 20 kills, Forest had six, Hannan four, Burton htree and Schreck two.
Hannan topped the Lady Tigers with 18 assists and Arden had 11.
Rylee Harmon had six points including two kills for the Lady Hornets while Addi Dillow added five kills and Mikayla Daniels recorded four kills for the game.
In the jayvee game, Ironton won 25-20, 25-23.
For Ironton, Lydia Freeman had nine points, Isabel Morgan six, Sidney Douglas five, and Emily Campbell, Tegan Carpenter and Kirsten Williams three each.
Ironton hosts South Point at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday and visits Portsmouth on Thursday.
