In the movie Rocky III, a reporter asked Clubber Lang for a prediction and he snarled and said, “Pain.”
If someone asked the St. Joseph Flyers for a prediction on Thursday, they would have smiled and said, “Payne.”
Ryan Payne scored two goals to help the Flyers beat the St. Patrick Saints 4-2 in a non-league soccer game.
Jackson Rowe and Bryce Balestra also scored goals for the Flyers who improved to 4-1 on the season.
Zach Roach, Payne and Rowe each had an assist in the winning effort.
Goalkeeper Jimmy Mahlmeister racked up eight saves.
St. Joseph visits New Boston at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.
