PINE GROVE — Joyce Lewis left the hospital on Monday and was operating on Tuesday.
Lewis proved to be a gifted surgeon as she adroitly operated on the Ironton Country Club course and picked up two wins during the regular outing of the Ironton Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association.
Lewis was the hostess on the day and conducted the brief business meeting and served breakfast treats before announcing the day’s events.
After the women cut and stitched the holes on the course’s greens, they had lunch and then Lewis announced the day’s event winners.
The winner’s list included Becky Dillow, Margaret Donley, Sharon Fox and Lewis with two wins.
The Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association is planning its fall league party and End of the Year tournaments.
Lewis said that all the ladies “enjoy all the work going into the court to enhance play.”
Fox will serve as next week’s hostess.
New members are always welcomed and persons do not have to be members of the Ironton County Club to be part of the Ladies Nine Hole League and play the nine-hole course in Pine Grove.
