Randy Taylor
Dec. 27, 1956 – Sept. 9, 2019
Randy Joe Taylor, 62, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, at his residence. Randy was born Dec. 27, 1956, in Ironton, a son to Patricia Miller Taylor and the late George Taylor.
Randy was a graduate of Symmes Valley High School and was a United States Navy veteran. He was a factory worker for 25 years for Innocor, Inc. Randy was very active and a faithful member at Charity Baptist Church in Chattanooga. Randy considered his church and work friends as family.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by sister, Carolyn Taylor.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, George (Cindy) Jackson Taylor, of Mansfield, and Benny (Terri) Taylor, of Pedro; three nephews, Robert (Amanda) Taylor, Kyle (Kaylyn) Taylor and Luke (Malenna) Taylor; a niece Kristy Taylor;
several great-nieces and nephews; and a host of friends who will miss him.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Friday, at Rehoboth Cemetery, Waterloo, with Bro. Kyle Taylor officiating. There will be no public visitation.
Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Daniel Carey
Nov. 15, 1932 – Sept. 11, 2019
Daniel Joseph Carey, 86, of Coal Grove, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019 at the Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. He was born in Lawrence County, on Nov. 15, 1932 to the late Leonard Phillip and Carrie Elizabeth Melvin Carey Adkins. He was the husband of Marlene Sue (Nourse) Carey, whom he married, Oct. 13, 1956, who survives.
Daniel was a graduate of Dawson Bryant High School attended Emory Aviation Flight School, Miami, Florida. He was a former member of the Lawrence County Lions Club. Daniel was a lifelong student of the Bible and loved going to Myrtle Beach and spending time with his family. He loved his church and his church family as a member of Sharon Baptist Church, Ironton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother,: John “Peabod” Carey; two grandsons, D.J. Carey III and Randall Keith Fields II; and a nephew, Mitchell Phillip Carey.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Randall Keith (Kim) Fields, of Boyd County, Kentucky and D.J. Carey II, of Russell, Kentucky; a daughter, Crystal Elaine (Bill) Heckel, of New London; three grandchildren, Betsy (Terry) Callihan, of Raceland, Kentucky, Frank (Jozi) Heckel of Wilmington and Brittany Fields; six great-grandchildren, Rylie Sue-Anne Cook, of Raceland, Kentucky, Cullen Callihan, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, Jayden Callihan, of Greenup, Kentucky, Noah Carey, of Ashland, Kentucky, Layla Carey, of Ashland, Kentucky, William Heckel, of Wilmington and Robert Aycock; a nephew, John Robert Carey, of Coal Grove; two special friends and neighbors:, Larry and Bobbi Shelton, of Coal Grove.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the wonderful staff of the Hospice Care Center for all their thoughtfulness and care.
A graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday at Woodland Cemetery, 824 Lorain St., Ironton, with Pastor Steve Harvey officiating.

Paul Smith
Paul Nathaniel Smith, 42, of Chesapeake, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with Pastor Randall Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Friends may visit from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home.

Ronald Bowman
Ronald Eugene Bowman, 52, of Proctorville, died Sunday Sept. 8, 2019 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. He is survived by his wife, Hilda Bowman.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Athalia Dillon Chapel in Athalia. Burial will follow at Crown City Cemetery in Crown City.
