Seniors are honored at Ironton golf quad match

PINE GROVE — The seniors went out swining.
It was senior night at the Ironton Country Club on Monday as the Ironton Fighting Tigers’ golf team hosted three teams for the boys’ match and two schools for the girls’ match.
The Coal Grove Hornets used a 42 by medalist Trevor Carey for a 192 score to win the boys’ match. Jake Sites had a 43, Brayden Dillow 45 and McMahan 62.
The St. Joseph Flyers were second with a 205-total led by Jimmy Mahlmeister with a 47. Senior Ryan Payne shot a 49 while Josh Kline and Jacob Salisbury each carded a 54 and Nick Pauley had a 55.
Ironton was led by seniors Brayden Easterling with a 43 and Logan Price with a 57. Noah Woods shot a 60 and the team added an extra 62 due to only three players as Ironton had a team score of 222.
The Rock Hill Redmen posted a 238 as Kris Hill and Colton Easterling each shot rounds of 56 while Victor Day and Isaac Doolin each had a 60.
In the girls’ match, the Lady Fighting Tigers’ got a 52 from medalist Bela Delawder to lead them to a win. Senoir Trinity Littleton had a 55, Maddie Foster shot a 59 and Makayla Collins a 61 for the team’s total of 227.
West Union was the runner-up with a 236. Linda Lynch shot a 57, Madison Fulton a 59 and both Claire Stapleton and Hannah Blythe had a 64.
Lauren Henry shot a 59 for the Rock Hill Redwomen.
Ironton was at Portsmouth on Tuesday and visits Sugarwood Golf Course on Wednesday against South Point.
